World Sports Betting Western Province opened their T20 Challenge campaign with a commanding four-wicket win over the Renault Potchefstroom North West Dragons at WSB Newlands on Sunday.

After opting to bowl first, Province were set a challenging target as the Dragons posted 186/5. Diego Rosier (73) and Ludwich Schuld (61 off 40) led the way for the visitors with a strong partnership.

Daniel Smith then stole the show in the chase, smashing 80, while Valentine Kitime added a quick-fire 50 to guide Province home with ease — reaching the target in under 17 overs for a confident start to their season.

In Johannesburg, Goldrush Boland made it two from two with a gritty eight-run win over the DP World Lions at the Wanderers.

Bowled out for 138 in 18 overs, Boland’s bowlers fought back superbly to defend the modest total. Despite Delano Potgieter’s unbeaten 46, the Lions were restricted to 130, as Boland held their nerve for back-to-back victories.

Meanwhile, the Dafabet Warriors secured their first win of the campaign with a dominant 86-run victory over the Momentum Multiply Titans in Centurion.

Matthew de Villiers (74) and JP King (76*) powered the Warriors to 193/3, before Mathew Boast (4/23) and Kerwin Mungroo (3/24) ripped through the Titans lineup to bowl them out for just 107.

Down in Durban, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins edged past the Moothee Ram Tuskers by 14 runs in a tense KZN derby.

A debut half-century from Gomolemo Phiri (64*) helped the Dolphins to 178/5, before the hosts held off a determined chase led by Sean Gilson (55) to seal the win, with Tuskers finishing on 164/7.
