We wrap up the third weekend of the Mzansi Super League 2.0 fixtures, which saw the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants maintain their unbeaten record.
Paarl Rocks vs Jozi Stars
On Friday, an oddly slow batting performance by the Jozi Stars saw them post a mere 129/3 in their allotted 20 overs with Reeza Hendricks scoring 40 off 34 balls while Ryan Rickelton and Rassie scoring in the 30’s.
The Paarl Rocks chased for the bonus point but fell short despite securing the victory by 4 wickets with 23 balls remaining. James Vince was their top performer once again with 43 off 28 balls and both Dwaine Pretorius and Mangaliso Mosehle scored impressive 30’s.
Durban Heat vs Nelson Mandela Bay Giants
Durban Heat lost their top 3 early but a 100-run stand between David Miller (45) and Ravi Bopara (57*) guided them to a competitive 160/5. Jason Roy scored a half-century but Chris Morris’ quickfire 22 off 10 balls powered them to a nail-biting 5-wicket win with 1 ball remaining to extend their lead at the top.

Jozi Stars vs Tshwane Spartans
AB de Villiers’ 54 and Pite van Biljon’s 45 guided the Spartans to what seemed like a below-par 155/6 until their bowlers ran riot at the back end of the innings. The Jozi Stars collapsed from 112/3 to 135, to be handed their 6th defeat of the tournament.
