Proteas batsman Rassie van der Dussen scored a lone-wolf unbeaten 107 for a struggling Lions against the Knights, while the Cobras look to earn their first win of the campaign in their match against the Warriors, as we wrap up Day 3 of the 5th Round of the 4-Day Series.
KNIGHTS VS LIONS
The Lions who ended Day 3 on 91/2, went on to post only 262 with Van der Dussen’s 107 (203 balls, 11 fours, 3 sixes) the only significant score in pursuit of the Knights’ 472. This enforced the follow-on with Shaun von Berg’s five-for stealing the show for the home side.
The Lions ended the day on 43/2, trailing the Knights by 167 runs and will be fighting for a draw on the final day.
WARRIORS VS COBRAS
The Warriors resumed day 3 on 124/2. An excellent 114 off 154 balls from Rudi Second and a half-century from captain Yaseen Vallie frustrated the Cobras, as they posted 325 in their second innings leaving the Cobras with over 260 to chase for victory. Calvin Savage’s 4/81 was crucial to their bowling performance.
Although losing two wickets by Stumps, the Cobras will feel the game is theirs to lose, with the visitors needing 183 runs to win on the final day.
Janneman Malan ended the Day on 44 not out and will need Kyle Verreynne to put in another top performance to make the chase easier on the Cobras.
TITANS VS DOLPHINS
The game in Centurion was suspended due to a positive Covid 19 case in the Dolphins camp.
