We take a look at five players that stood out during the CSA Provincial T20 Cup.
Lerato Kgoatle
The 26-year-old batsman had a fantastic tournament with Limpopo. He blasted two centuries in only four matches. His 272 runs propelled him to third-highest run-scorer of the tournament even though the top-two had played six matches. Although he missed out on being picked as one of the wild-cards of the MSL2.0, the batsman can take a lot of confidence in the way he performed.
Grant Roelofsen
With 279 runs in six matches, the 23-year-old batsman was the top-run-scorer of the tournament. The top-order batsman is one to watch out for in the future. His highest score of the tournament (79) was in the final against a very strong Easterns side. The wicket-keeper has been awarded a contract by the Dolphins for the 2019/20 season.
Cody Chetty
The KZN-Inland captain accumulated 276 runs in the tournament at an average of 55 with two fifties. His partnerships with Roelofsen at the top of the order were crucial for KZN- Inland making it to the final of the tournament.
Robbie Frylinck
The veteran had a point to prove after being dropped by the Tshwane Spartans in the MSL 2.0 player draft, and the 35-year-old did exactly that. His all-round performances during the tournament helped his team reach the final and almost win it. His ability to pick-up wickets and keep opposition batsman quiet at any time of the game is something that makes him stand-out. He managed 113 runs in the tournament, including one fifty, and finished with a total of nine wickets. His performances in the tournament led to him being a wild-card pick for Durban Heat.
Dylan Matthews
Nelson Mandela Bay Giant’s wild-card pick had a decent tournament with Easterns. He picked up seven wickets at an average of 16.85. What stands-out about Dyllan is his ability to bowl very economical spells, for this tournament his economy rate was 6.94 which is amazing for a leg-spinner.
