South Africa U19 skittled England U19 for 156 in 40 overs, to set up a convincing series victory at Paul Roos Gymnasium.

It was a dominant bowling performance from the SA U19 team in the ODI series decider at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch.

The boys in green took wickets in clusters. It started with wickets at the top of the order, Carl Fryer and Raeeq Daniels striking early on.

England had a period of dominance led by Archie Vaughan who scored 60 off 83 balls. He was supported by Aaryan Sawant (20) and Farhan Ahmed (26).

Bandile Mbatha put an end to Vaughan, and the game switched back into South Africa’s favour. England were 146-5 after 35.5 overs.

What followed was a truly special spell from Daniel Bosman. He took 3 wickets in four balls and conceded just 2 runs which rattled England and shrunk their chance of a decent score.

Chad Mason and Raeeq Daniels wrapped things up for SA, England posting a measly 156 with 10 overs to spare.

South Africa’s chase wasn’t without blemishes, losing six wickets during their chase. Despite this, they still managed to complete the victory in 35.1 overs.

Benjamin Hansen top scored with 57 off 60 balls hitting 10 fours.

This was the key contribution that helped SA win the match and the series 2-1.
