The Proteas took two wickets for 63 runs in the first session on Day 4 of the 1st Test against India, who managed to take their lead to 209 by lunch.
Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi continued to add onto their tally as India remained in check. Ngidi removed KL Rahul and Rabada took out the night watchman Thakur.
The India batters, however, have time on their hands having already extended the lead beyond South Africa’s 1st innings total.
This will give India hope that they can bowl South Africa out a second time if they manage to extend the lead sufficiently.
There is however one factor that India need to take into account, the weather forecast which suggests that Thunder Storms and Rain could interfere with play around tea and on the final day.
India went into lunch on 79-3 with Virat Kohli 18 on and Cheteshwar Pujara on 12.
