Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander caused havoc at the start of England’s innings as they went into lunch on 60/2, writes Naeemah Benjamin.
England wasted no time on day 2 with Stuart Broad wrapping things up claiming his fourth scalp to end with identical figures as Sam Curran with 4/58.
Vernon Philander was the last wicket to fall, he edged to the keeper for a vital (35 from 81 balls).
Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander were causing all sorts of havoc with a brilliant opening spell leaving England on 15/2 early in their innings.
Rabada’s first over was filled with drama, a wicket off the first delivery but much relief for Burns as it was overturned. But if one doesn’t get you the other definitely will and Philander got Burns with his first delivery with a beauty of a delivery angling on off stump.
Philander, in particular, was as accurate as ever in his opening spell, he bowled 5 overs which included 5 maidens, zero runs and a wicket.
