The Proteas, led by a magnificent bowling performance from Kagiso Rabada (5-52), skittled England for 165 before lunch on Day 2 of the 1st Test at Lord’s.
Rabada was exceptional in his approach. Despite Ollie Pope being dropped by Sarel Erwee in his first over, he came back with a bang to bowl England’s top scorer for 73.
Jansen played an admirable supporting role finishing with 2-30, taking out Jack Leach’s off stump with beautiful shape on the ball.
Rabada was the key destroyer, finishing with 5-52 to see himself go up on the Lord’s honours board, joining the likes of fellow South Africans Allan Donald, Vernon Philander and Makhaya Ntini.
The 27-year-old bowled with pace, precision and accuracy and walked off the field to a huge standing ovation after taking his 12th five-for.

Despite a low first innings total by England, the Proteas batters will have their work cut out for them to combat the new-ball swing from James Anderson and Stuart Broad (who has a very good record against left-handers).
Sarel Erwee and Dean Elgar showed patience to survive the 1st session. South Africa ended the session on 26-0.
