Batters Mushfiqur Rahim and Yasir Ali’s half-centuries helped Bangladesh post 210-7 on a cold and gloomy first session on Day 3 as the visitors aim to avoid the follow-on.

Bangladesh ended Day 2 on 139 for the loss of five wickets. Senior batter, Mushfiqur Rahim, has been missing in terms of performances since the Test series started. Late on Day 2, the veteran put on a fight and ensured that the team had a bit of faith going into the moving day.

On a cold, gloomy morning, Rahim combined with the young Yasir in a 70-run partnership that frustrated the South African bowling attack.

Yasir (46 off 87) lost his wicket an hour before lunch, thanks to Keshav Maharaj, and Rahim joined him shortly after, bowled by Simon Harmer.

Rahim (51 off 136) lost his wicket playing a reverse sweep.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (9 off 23) and Taijul Islam will continue batting after Lunch as they look to avoid a follow on and also a series whitewash at the hands of a new look Proteas Test squad.
