South Africa’s strong bowling and a dominant chase sealed a confident win, bouncing back well after a tough start to their World Cup campaign.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first.

Marizanne Kapp got South Africa off to a perfect start, taking a wicket with the very first ball of the match. Her early breakthrough set the tone for the rest of the innings.

New Zealand finished 231-10.

Nonkululeko Mlaba was the standout bowler, finishing with impressive figures of 4-40 from her 10 overs. She helped keep things tight and caused constant problems for the New Zealand batters.

 Captain Sophie Devine was the standout batter for the White Ferns, scoring 85 from 98 balls.

It was a very comfortable chase for South Africa. Tazmin Brits and Sune Luus had an incredible partnership of 159 from 170 balls, which helped the Proteas reach their target.

Tazmin Brits played an incredible knock, scoring 101 off 89 balls. She became the first woman to score five ODI centuries in a calendar year.

Sune Luus was the other standout batter, scoring 81 off 114.

This was a significant victory for South Africa, as they needed to bounce back after their substantial loss against England.

South Africa won by 6 wickets.
