We preview the 3rd match between South Africa and England which takes place on Tuesday 1 December at Six Gun Grill Newlands at 18:00 (SAST).
In what can be considered a dead rubber, the match outcome will be heavily determined by the team selection. Both matches were played on a slow pitch that aided the slower deliveries, making it harder for batsmen to truly let loose and play an entertaining brand of cricket, particularly in Paarl.
The “Aggressive” brand of cricket was difficult for both sides to implement, with the team who played the “smarter” brand of cricket coming out on top.
As mentioned before, the team selection will be a major determiner of the result – will England and South Africa play their strongest XI available, or change things up to give those who never had the opportunity, a chance to prove themselves.
Quinton de Kock’s press conference where he said “We need to win for our own sake”, indicates that the Proteas will pick a strong squad.
Nonetheless, on our preview show have decided to still go ahead and pick teams they would like to see play.
