A solid bowling performance from Bryce Parsons and the Dolphins’ bowlers have sealed them a semi-final spot in the CSA T20 Challenge.
A total of 148 runs seemed a below-par score at this stage of the competition. But the Dolphins bowlers put on a heroic performance to deny both the Warriors and Dragons a chance to progress to the semi-final stage of the competition.
Parsons’ 3-22, two-wickets each from Andile Phehlukwayo, Ottneil Baartman, and Prenelan Subrayen, dismantled what has been the most consistent batting unit in the competition.
Eathan Bosch (1-9 in 2 overs) was one of the main catalysts in today’s bowling performance as he removed the dangerous Richard Levi with a superb one-handed return catch.
Earlier in the game, the Dolphins were in trouble as George Linde (2-24 in 4 overs) and Aviwe Mgijima (2-25 in 4 overs) were on the money with three wickets between them in the powerplay.
But a fightback with the bat from Khaya Zondo (59), Phehlukwayo (25) and Parsons (28) helped Dolphins to a total that they defended successfully.
