The Giants were all set for a massive total but the death bowling by the Cape Town Blitz restricted them to 173/6.

Wahab Riaz 3/19 and Sisanda Magala 2/26 were the chief destroyers.

Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock got the Blitz off to a good chase in pursuit of 174 runs to stay alive in the tournament.

The latter was dismissed for (40) and brought an end to the 85-run opening stand. Malan continued and scored 60 from 41 balls including a four and 6 sixes.

Imran Tahir was once again influential and picked up the key wickets of Janneman Malan and Quinton de Kock.

He ended with figures of 2/22 in his 4 over spell.

The Blitz were restricted to 162/8.

The victory took the Giants to 27 points. They will play second-placed Paarl Rocks who will be aiming for a bonus-point win to secure a home final.
