Khalid Mohidin chats with SuperSport presenter and Commentator Pommie Mbangwa about his journey as a cricketer and broadcaster.
One of the most recognised cricket voices in the world, Pommie Mbangwa has covered many iconic cricket matches dating back to the early 2000s.
His unique voice and wonderful ability to use words to describe his emotions while watching the game is what always stood out to me while listening to his work.
It was essential to get him on the show, and with some help from Ravi “the Heavy Roller”, Reddy, Pommie accepted to come on an episode of our On Lockdown series.
He spoke about his journey as a cricketer, particularly one of his main highlights being the 1999 World Cup, and reminisced about some of the major turning points in his career.
We shifted to his career as a broadcaster and what was key to this journey, a story that must be heard by everyone aspiring to live this dream.
It was also very insightful to hear what were some of the highlights of his career as a broadcaster which included one of the most iconic matches he has covered.
Another topic that we chatted about was Manchester United. He picked some of his favourite players to have donned the famous red shirt.
