SASCOC interim President Aleck Skhosana has confirmed that they will appoint a task team to take over the cricket body once the Fundudzi forensic report into CSA’s administrative affairs is handed over.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) and the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee, held a tele-press conference with journalists on Thursday to clear up the current affairs in South African cricket.
Acting SASCOC President Aleck Skhosana revealed that two meetings were had with CSA, one was satisfactory while the other was not, as CSA has received legal advice that revealing the forensic report is not in their best interest.
Skhosana has, however, assured that their involvement does not represent politic interference into CSA matters as SASCOC is not a political body.
He also confirmed that if CSA does not comply with the request for its executives to step aside, they will have to resort to other measures. They also want access to the forensic report first before appointing a task team.
SASCOC has also been in contact with the ICC.
CSA acting president Beresford Williams says they are committed to SASCOC’s plan but CSA is still adamant that they will only make the report available under restrictions.
They do not want to give SASCOC access to the full forensic report without them signing a Non Disclosure Agreement.
