James Vince (37 )and Ferisco Adams unbeaten (23 off 12) steered the Paarl Rocks to 166/7 despite Imran Tahir picking up figures of 2/19 in his 4 overs.
Bjorn Fortuin got the massive wicket of Jason Roy with the first ball of the innings and then wickets kept tumbling despite Ben Dunk’s lone battle, scoring 45.
The Giants suffered their first defeat as they were bowled out for 135 in 19.4 overs.
All the bowlers picked up two scalps with Hardus Viljoen 2/21 and Tabraiz Shamsi 2/24 being the pick of the bowlers.
Cape Town Blitz vs Durban Heat
The Blitz lost Quinton de Kock early but Janneman Malan’s 75 and David Bedingham’s 44 lead the way with Liam Livingstone (27*) and Vernon Philander (18*) clearing the boundary at the back end to guide them to 181/5.
Dale Steyn picked up the wickets of the openers but then Dane Vilas’ unbeaten 75* powered them to register their first win of the tournament with a 7-wicket victory aided well by Wihan Lubbe (45) and David Miller (26*).
