The Lions won the toss and opted to bat first, and despite losing both openers, managed to end the day positively with the bat.
The Titans struck twice, removing Lions skipper Dominic Hendricks (15) and Joshua Richards (38), Junior Dala and Janco Smit picking up the wickets.
The Lions’ recovery was anchored by Mitchell van Buuren (56 off 71 balls) and Zubayr Hamza (46 off 84 balls) to take the Lions past the 150 mark.
The hosts posted 160-2 before bad light stepped play.
