Kagiso Rabada’s second five-for helped the Proteas restrict Bangladesh to 194-9 in the 2nd ODI at the Wanderers.

The Proteas needed to draw power from that record, especially after losing the first ODI at Centurion.

After the disappointment in the first ODI, the Proteas got off to a flying start despite losing the toss. Bangladesh was 34-5 after 12.4 overs.
Kagiso Rabada was the chief wrecker taking 5 wickets, while Wayne Parnell, Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi and Rassie van der Dussen added one each. However, at the end of Parnel’s third over, he went off injured.
This saw Bangladesh take advantage of Bavuma being forced to come in to bowl.
Afif Hossain and Mahmudullah rebuilt the Bangladesh innings. They took their team within 6 of the 100-run mark when Tabraiz Shamsi got the breakthrough. Mahmudullah guided the ball to Janneman Malan at leg slip.
Afif Hossain’s 72 off 107 balls brought Bangladesh back into the match. He was helped by a 38 off 49 balls from Mehidy.
Afif ended the 50 overs unbeaten with his side on 194-9 after the 86 off 115 balls partnership brought them back into the game.
Rabada finished with a 5-39 his second five-for in his career.
