Warriors and Proteas bowler Lutho Sipamla chats to Cricket Fanatics Magazine in an exclusive interview with Ongama Gcwabe.

How has Mfuneko Ngam helped you as a bowler last season? What did he bring to the Warriors side that you think helped you find success last season?

He has brought a bit of calmness with him which I think has helped me in a few ways in my game.

With all the exposure Mzansi Super League brought about and making your debut in the Proteas side last season. How much have you learned from those experiences?

I learnt Precision in everything that I do, from the way I practice through to the way I play on the field. Being precise in the decisions I make on and off the field. And also it exposed me to how I should behave professionally.

How important is the SA A call-up for you?

I’m really grateful for being given the opportunity to go on the tour, now it is up to me to go out there and grab it with both hands

What type of fast bowler are you pushing yourself to be? A lot of people say you remind them of Morne Morkel.

Yeah, it’s great being compared to such a good player that’s been produced out of SA cricket but I’m pushing for my own identity and bringing about my own unique style of bowling.

What did you learn from the likes of Kagiso Rabada and other Proteas bowlers?

Professionalism. The way they go about preparing for games and as well as their practices.

Are you working on new variations? And what sort of bowler are you aiming to emulate?

As a bowler you are always working on a way to better yourself, to try and give you that competitive edge above everybody else.

Having played a couple of games for the national side, what do you feel you need to do to become a regular in the side?

I have to be consistent with all the performances that I put in for the various teams that I represent and I will try to make the team become as successful as possible
