GBets Warriors batter, Matthew Breetzke, scored a third successive half-century in as many games to secure a Quarter-Final spot for the side from Gqeberha.
22-year-old Breetzke’s glittering start to the season has been instrumental to the Warriors magnificent recovery from Day One’s loss to the GBets Rocks on Monday.
The youngster’s 80 runs off 46 included nine 4s and three 6s at a strike rate of 174. His innings helped the Warriors get to another mammoth 228 runs in their allotted overs.
Jerry Nqolo and Clayton Bosch led what could have been the best fight back we’ve seen in this tournament so far.
Bosch and Nqolo finished unbeaten on 64 and 58 respectively as Eastern Cape Iinyathi suffered a 21-runs defeat and fail to progress to the next stage of the competition.
In the other match of the pool, The Gbets Rocks claimed a comfortable 32-run victory over the Limpopo Impalas in their final CSA Provincial T20 Knock Out Competition round-robin fixture and securing the top spot in Pool D.
