On the 16th October Eastern Province Cricket hosted their Provincial KFC Mini-Cricket Online Seminar and the coaches in attendance were blessed by the opportunity to hear Temba Bavuma and Tshepo Ntuli speak about how they got into cricket and what their plans are in the future.
Temba spoke about his work with his foundation and Tshepo spoke about how he is recovering from a disease that nearly took his life. Both speakers motivated the coaches in attendance with their epic tales of achievement.
The KFC Mini-Cricket Provincial Seminars aim to highlight some of the past season’s gains and further communicates the strategy for the season ahead.
Run by South African MC and comedian Dalin Oliver the seminar was a huge success and very interactive where the KFC Mini-Cricket coaches from the Eastern Province Cricket Union got a chance to learn about their program and about what are the expectations for the season including when they can start playing again and the restrictions for the season.
Eastern Province Donovan May got proceedings underway with a welcome from the union and some encouraging points from the previous season.
Buhle Motshegoa CSA’s Mass Participation Coordinator set the expectations for the season with what the coaches can and cannot do.
Warriors players Tshepo Ntuli and Tiaan van Vuuren spoke about their achievements in sport and gave recognition to the coaches for the work that they do to develop cricket in South Africa and how they influenced the player’s lives and gave them the love for cricket.
\The KFC Mini-Cricket programme introduces children to the game and is one of South Africa’s biggest grassroots sports development programmes. It is the critical foundation stage in the development of South Africa’s future cricketing heroes and is the first phase in CSA’s ‘pipeline to the Proteas’.
