We wrap up Day 5 of the CSA T20 Challenge.

GBets Warriors vs Hollywoodbets Dolphins: Dolphins won by 20 runs.

The Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first in an attempt to exploit moisture from a strip that was used for the first time in the competition. The Dolphins started their innings slowly. They read conditions before deciding to go big. They finally took the fight to the bowlers from the third over onwards with Grant Roelofsen (50 off 30 with three 4s and one 6 ) the chief-attacker. Experienced heads, David Miller (58 off 26 with two 4s and six 6s) and Andile Phehlukwayo (28 off 16 with one 4 and two 6s), picked up where the two openers left off and combined for 86-run-partnership that eventually led the Dolphins to the highest total of the competition thus far. Chasing 212 runs, Matthew Breetzke (11 off 10), Wihan Lubbe (1 off 4) and Lesiba Ngoepe (2 off 6) lost their wickets cheaply, putting the Warriors on the backfoot in what would’ve been a record-run chase at St. George’s Park Cricket Stadium. Jon-Jon Smuts (47 off 31 with five 4s and two 6s), Diego Rosier (19 off 18) and Tristan Stubbs (80 off 31 with three 4s & eight 6s) fought hard for a win but fell 20-runs short off the target but recorded 191-6 which is the second-highest total of the competition thus far.

Itec Knights vs Momentum Multiply Titans: Titans won by 27 runs
Having elected to bat first, Titans didn’t have a good start as they lost two wickets off the third over of their innings – Proteas star Quinton de Kock and Theunis de Bruyn for 5 and 0 respectively. The responsibility fell on young Dewald Brevis’ shoulders who on debut managed 23-runs off 25 deliveries and had an experienced head alongside him in Heinrich Klaasen at the crease. Klaasen kept fighting for the Titans and notched up his fourth career T20 half-century, while the other batters battled on the other end. A cameo from Junior Dala (27* off 18 deliveries with four 4s) propelled Titans to a defendable 151 runs. In reply, the Knights continued their poor run of form with the bat as they lost three quick wickets and found themselves in a difficult position on 26-3 after 4.5 overs. Aaron Phangiso (2-20 in 4 overs), Lizaad Williams (2-20 in 4 overs) and Tabraiz Shamsi (2-29 in 4 overs) sealed the victory for Titans in 18.5 overs.
