Dewald Brevis showed flashes of brilliance on his IPL debut scoring 29 off 19 balls for the Mumbai Indians.

Although his time in the middle was short-lived, the 18-year-old managed to play with confidence and freedom, taking on the likes of Umesh, Cummins and Chakravarthy.

The standout shot from the youngster was his no-look six against the spinner Chakravarthy, flicking the ball off his toes, picking up the googly and hitting with the turn.

He also managed a fortunate six off Cumins straight over the keeper’s head attempting to pull and a beautiful shot across the line just short of long-on for four of Umesh.

Overall it was a solid start to his IPL career. It will give him great confidence heading into the rest of the campaign.
