DAY 1 Report

South Africa added just 10 runs to their overnight score before eventually being all out for 309. India’s openers: Sudharsan and Mhatre put on a 90-run opening partnership with Mhatre scoring 65 off 76 balls before chipping a ball to mid-wicket off the bowling of Subrayen (Jordan Hermann took the catch).

Paddikal was the next wicket to fall for 6 off 21 after chipping the ball to mid-wicket off the bowling of Subrayen, leaving the team 104/2. Tshepo Moreki dismissed Sudharsan by finding the outside edge coming from around the wicket.  Moonsamy took an excellent catch to the left to dismiss him for 32.

Cele bowled an excellent bumper to Pant and hit the splice of his bat. The ball subsequently went. Hamza took a good catch to dismiss Pant. At the time of his dismissal, India was 157 for 4.

Shortly after that dismissal, Subrayen dismissed Paditar by bowling him. Subrayen came from around the wicket and ended up bowling Paditar (who tried to work the ball through the off side by advancing down the wicket). At the time of his dismissal, India were 159 for 5.

Senokwane took an unbelievable catch at bat-pad (off the bowling of Subrayen). India were 183 for 6 at the time of his dismissal.

Tiaan van Vuuren took his first wicket of the match by dismissing Suthar for 4 off 5 deliveries. Suthar mis-timed a pull shot and skied the ball straight to Moonsamy. At the time of dismissal, India were 188 runs for 7 wickets. 

Sipamla then dismissed Kambooj for 5 runs off 9 balls, leaving India A at 224 for the loss of 8 wickets. Kambooj mis-timed a pull-shot and got caught at fine-leg.

Rubin Hermann took an unbelievable catch at deep square-leg to dismiss Badoni for 38 runs off 46 balls. At the time of his dismissal, India A were 229 runs for the loss of 9 wickets.

Subrayen ended the Indian innings by dismissing Khaleel Ahmed for 4 runs off 5 balls. Subrayen came from around the wicket where Sipamla took a good catch. Subrayen ended the innings with 5 wickets for 61 runs, with India A trailing by 75 runs. 

South Africa A ended the day on 28 runs for the loss of 0 wickets. Jordan Hermann finished on 12 off 38 balls, and Senokwane on 9 off 34 balls.
