After announcing his departure from the Cobras after 10 years, Dane Piedt will be looking for a new challenge by plying his trade in the USA.

The United States is better known for inventing their own sports – American Football, Baseball, Basket Ball etc.

But in more recent times, they have shown interest by dabbling in more world-wide popular sports – Soccer, Rugby and now, Cricket.

The best way for them to show that they are serious about establishing their interest in the new sport is by luring over top-quality talent in the respective games.

If they are looking to show that they are serious about the promotion of cricket, they have definitely made an amazing start with acquiring the services of Dane Piedt.

Piedt has had an incredible career in South Africa with the Cobras, where has taken 230 wickets for the franchise in first-class cricket, 34 wickets in List-A cricket and 16 in the T20 format.

He also has a first-class 100 under his belt for the Cobras and 8 half-centuries.

The 30-year-old has also represented the Proteas at a Test level, taking 26 wickets in 9 matches in whites.

He took to Twitter to announce his decision.
