We round up Day 3 of Round 5 of the 4-Day Series, which saw Western Province claim victory against the Titans.

Western Province vs Titans

The boys in blue claimed an important victory against the Titans, which helped them fight to stay in the division.

The hosts were all out for 211, meaning Western Province needed 186 to win. Jody Lawrence, the main man for Province, finished with an impressive 4-39. The Titans’ standout performer was Dewald Brevis scored 99 (110)

Solid knocks from Tony De Zorzi 78 (102) and David Beddingham 67(84) helped lead the visitors to victory.

Western Province won by 7 wickets.

Dolphins vs North West

In Kingsmead, the hosts managed to restrict the visitors to just 186 with some exceptional bowling from Bryce Parson taking 5-28. The standout batsman from North West’s second innings was Ruan De Swardt 49 (136).

The hosts have it all to do on Day 4 with a decent score to chase.

Dolphins need 224 runs to win with 10 wickets remaining.

Warriors vs Knights

The hosts started off the day by bowling the Knights out for 191 during the first session on Day 3. Byers Swanepoel picked up an impressive 6 -30 from just 21 overs helping his team restrict the Knights to under 200. Aaron Phangiso got a solid 74 (169) being the highest run scorer for his team during their first innings.

However, the player of the day was Matthew de Villiers who scored a career-high 194 (218) and is still at the crease alongside Patrick Kruger 17 (13). JP King had an impressive knock scoring 64 (132).

De Villiers’ impressive run-scoring helped the hosts establish an enormous lead going into Day 4 putting them in a comfortable position.

Warriors lead Knights by 320 runs with 6 wickets remaining.

Boland vs Lions

No play took place in Paarl on Day 3 due to rain.
