We take a look at what took place on Day 2 of the 5th round of 4-Day Cup fixtures.

After being skittled by the Knights on Day 1 for 171, the Warriors struck back on Day 2 to keep their chances alive.

The Knights’ bowling attack all took wickets while Johan van Dyk stood out with 4-48.

On Day 2 the Warriors returned the favour, with Beyers Swanepoel leading the way by completing a 5-for. The Knights were rocked at 76-6. The visitors recovered through an Aaron Phangiso (61*) half-century taking them to 165/7 before bad light stopped play.

The Knights trail by 6 runs.

Dolphins vs North West

In Kingsmead, multiple half-centuries by North West’s middle order – Raynard van Tonder (54), Wihan Lubbe (59), Ruan de Swardt (75) and Rubin Hermann (65) – saw the visitors post 311.

Sarel Erwee (55) and Romashan Pillay (64) helped build the Dolphins’ innings with half-centuries. The hosts ended the day with 244-7.

Dolphins trail North West Dragons by 67 runs.

Boland vs Lions

In Paarl, there was a rain delay with Boland on 208-8. When the game started, Boland only managed to reach 229 before they were bowled out.

The Lions made it to 42/1 when stumps was called.

Lions trail Boland by 187 runs.

Western Province vs Titans

In Pretoria, after bowling out the Titans for 225 on Day 1, Western Province struggled to really dominate the match on Day 2, with batters getting starts but not kicking on. They were 151-5 by lunch. A half-century from George Linde helped WP to 250 and into a 25-run lead.

The Titans lost four wickets for 108 runs in their reply, leading by 83 runs.
