The CSA 4-Day Series resumed after a nearly three-month break on Thursday.

The feature game saw fourth-placed Goldrush Boland take on the top-of-the-log DP World Lions at Boland Bark with both teams fighting for a spot in the finals.

Boland won the toss and elected to bat first.

The hosts got off to a good start, being 106/2 at the lunch break. Pieter Malan was 42 (93), and Aviwe Mgijima was 9 (20) . Boland was looking very comfortable going into the lunch break with nothing really happening for the Lions.

However, after the lunch break, the Lion’s bowling attack came out firing with spinner Bjorn Fourtuin being the standout bowler taking 3 wickets during the second session. Clyde Reeves Fourtuin managed to claw Boland back into it scoring 43*(86).

At the tea break, Boland was 180-7 with Fourtuin and Stuurman in the middle.

Unfortunately, the rain persisted throughout the tea break as well as during the third session leading to the umpires calling stumps early.

The standout players for Boland on Day 1 were Pieter Malan 42 (93) and Clyde Reeves Fourtuin 43* (86).

The main players for the Lions on Day 1 were Bjorn Fourtuin 4-72 and Junaid Dawod 2-41.

Both teams bowled exceptionally well with the Knights bowling out the Warriors for 171 with the 2 standout bowlers being Johan van Dyk taking an impressive 4-48 and Dane Piedt taking 2-23. The standout runscorers for the Warriors were Jiveshan Pillay 49 (123) and JP King 43 (142).

Beyers Swanepoel was the main man today taking 4 wickets for just 16 runs.

The day finished with the Knights trailing the Warriors by 106 runs with 5 wickets in hand.

Lastly, the Momentum Multiply Titans took on WSB Western Province at Supersport Park.

The Titans won the toss and elected to bat.

The hosts were bowled out for 225 with the standout batters being the inform Lhuan-dre Pretorius who scored 103 (157) as well and Rivaldo Moonsamy scoring 45 (76).

Mihlali Mpongwana was the main man for the boys in blue taking 4-24 and the other standout was Jody Lawrence taking 3-49.

Western Province trail Titans by 139 runs with 8 wickets in hand at stumps.
