Day two of the One Day Cup saw Boland and the Warriors pick up convincing victories.

It was a scorching, clear-skied, sunny day at Boland Park for the opening game of these teams’ campaigns. Boland won the toss and elected to bowl first.

In the last three meetings between the sides, the Titans won all three games, so Boland was looking to get a win over them.

Boland started the game off very well after Imraan Manack picked up the massive wicket of the inform Lhuan-dre Pretorius in the third over who nicked the ball to the first slip.

The first 10 overs were fantastic for Boland as they had the Titans 19-3 and under some serious pressure with Manack and Stuurman constantly finding the edge of the bat.

At the first drinks break the Titans were 31-5 after Boland just consistently found success with the ball getting rid of key batters like Dewald Brevis and the captain Niel Brand.

At the halfway mark the Titans were 60-7

Dayyaan Galiem and Roelof van der Merwe fought hard to put some runs on the board with them reaching a 50 partnership. They were the standout batsmen of the Titans’ innings with Galiem scoring 45 (72) and Van Der Merwe 23 (62).

There were wickets all around for the Boland bowling attack Imran Manack being the standout bowler taking 3-12 alongside Shaun von Berg taking 3-27. The other wicket-takers were Glenton Stuurman 1-31, Keith Dudgeon 1-18, Ayabulela Gqamane 1-13 and Aviwe Mgijima 1-7.

The Titans were all out for 110.

After 10 overs Boland was 25-1. It was looking like they were going to cruise through this run chase.

At the halfway mark Boland was 68-3 and it just looked like they were taking their time by batting patiently and slowly reaching the score needed.

Gavin Kaplan was the standout batsman for Boland today scoring 42* (78).

Van Der Merwe took 2-28 and Tsepo Ndwandwa took 3-21 however that just wasn’t enough to put Boland under any sort of pressure.

In Durban, the Warriors beat the Dolphins by a massive margin of 126 runs. Jordan Hermann was the star of the show with his 148 not out off 145 balls (14 fours, 4 sixes) and was supported by Matthew Breetzke (62 off 59) and Beyers Swanepoel (73* off 43).

They set a total of 343-2 and bowled the Dolphins out for 217. Andile Mogakane starred with 4-23.
