After a tremendous showing with the bat, South Africa has confidently bowled their way to a colossal 104-run victory against Bangladesh.

Rilee Rossouw was the star of the show with his impressive century, but the day got even better when Anrich Nortje struck twice in his first over to remove both Bangladeshi openers.

Despite a sprightly first over, the chase never got going for the Tigers. Nortje got his third wicket in his very next over, sending back skipper Shakib Al Hasan.

Litton Das was the only batter who showed any resistance, but the introduction of the spin duo of Maharaj and Shamsi further bogged down the Bangladesh batters.

In the end, it was an insurmountable score to chase down, and the Proteas bowling unit collectively quelled their opponents. Shamsi ran through the middle order, and Nortje returned to claim his fourth wicket.

This victory is a significant NRR booster for the Proteas, and it couldn’t have happened at a more opportune time.

The next match will be against India, the tournament favourites, on Sunday. Expect a cracker of a contest in store!
