We take a look at the top performances in each 4-Day Franchise Series game of the 7th round of fixtures.

Temba Bavuma answers call of “weight of runs” with a defiant 180

He managed to score his career-best total in the fourth innings for Lions that slowed down the Dolphins’ hunt for victory.

The knock came at a time he desperately needed it and after the hectic week where he found himself trending on social media.

He answered the critics by letting his bat do the talking. He scored 17 in the first innings when the Lions got bowled out for a mere 147 in 52 overs in reply to Dolphins 381/10 with Dupavillon 4/29 and Subrayen 3/21 the chief destroyers.

Nono Pongolo did the sticking around job quite well with 25 from 161 balls. But in the end, it was just too much as Dolphins clinch a 131-run win.

Sarel Erwee scored 136 in the first innings including a 194-run stand with Marques Ackerman who brought up a much-anticipated century of his own to guide their side to 381/10. While Wihan Lubbe picked up 5/43.

He also scored a 50 in the second innings alongside Vaughn van Jaarsveld to lead the Dolphins to declare on 195/6 with a hefty 429-run lead.

Knights clinch comprehensive 10-wicket victory over Warriors.

This round of franchise games was truly for batsmen and the East London fixture was no different. Half-centuries from Raynard van Tonder (80) and Pite van Biljon (59) and handy 40’s from Wandile Makwetu and Keegan Petersen set up the win for the visiting team.

A sorry looking scorecard for Warriors who got bowled out for 141 in their first innings with Yaseen Vallie top-scoring with 91.

Matthew Breetzke brought up his maiden franchise ton for the Warriors in the second innings.

Mentions must go to Shadley van Schalkwyk who picked up 2/25 and 4/28 and Budaza 4/26 as well as Lutho Sipamla 4/76.

That’s all she wrote at Newlands as the match ends in a draw

Tony de Zorzi’s unbelievable 213* aided well by Farhaan Behardien’s 92, Heinrich Klaasen’s 79 and Dayyaan Galiem’s 53 allowed Titans to declare on 470/5 setting the Cobras 302 to win with about 50 overs left in the day.

Nandre Burger was superb upfront for the home side picking up figures of 4/42 to restrict Titans to 30/4 but a brilliant maiden 100 from Hardus Viljoen and a neat 64 from Grant Thomson rescued the Titans as they were bowled out for 287.

It was a batting day for the Cobras as Matthew Kleinveldt continued to stack up the runs whenever he gets an opportunity. George Linde followed up from his 10-for last week in Oudtshoorn with a superb unbeaten 148* that steered the team to 456/10.

Special mentions to Jason Smith who scored 59 and picked up 2/44 and 2/49 and Cartwright who picked up figured of 4/87 and 2/35.
