We wrap up the final day of the 2nd round of fixtures of the 4-Day Franchise Series.
Knights vs Lions
It was a collective bowling effort from by the Knights to reduce the Lions to 178-5 but Rassie van der Dussen (75) and Dominic Hendricks (63) ensured that their team could declare with a massive 321-run lead shortly after lunch.
Grant Mokoena (26) and Raynard van Tonder (35) were both unbeaten to get the Knights to 62-0 after 20 overs. At this point a result was looking extremely unlikely so the captains were happy to shake hands and call it a day.
The Knights are third on the log with the Lions narrowly behind them at 4th place.
Warriors vs Titans
Tabraiz Shamsi shines for the visiting team picking up figures of 5/66 with the help of Brand 3/59 as the Warriors were bowled out for 260 setting the Titans 282 to win.
Stuurman picked up the wicket of the dangerous Wesley Marshall and Mahlangu and Smuts got the wicket of Neil Brand before Farhaan Behardien (30* from 94) once again hung around to steer the Titans to a draw, this time along side his skipper Grant Thomson (39* from 124).
The Sky blues are on top the log whilst the Warriors are third.
Dolphins vs Cobras
An incredible 175 by Matthew Kleinveldt and 78 by Kyle Verreynne ensured Cobras batted just once and had a first innings lead of 166. Their bowlers lead by Dane Paterson with figures of 3/78 and Nandre Burger and Jason Smith both picking up two scalps reduced the Dolphins to 95-5 but the 77-run 7th wicket stand between Cody Chetty (69* off 203) and Robbie Frylinck (44*) steered the home side to 198-6 to draw the match.
On the overall log these two teams are at the bottom with Dolphins 5th and Cobras 6th and are yet to win a match.
