Heavy and persistent rain on Sunday caused the first T20 International between the Proteas and India at Dharamsala to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.

The game did not even get as far as the toss which means that the Proteas uncapped quartet – Temba Bavuma, Anrich Nortje, Bjorn Fortuin and George Linde – will have to wait until the second of the three matches at Mohali on Wednesday for the chance to make a debut.

Standard Bank T20I squad: Quinton de Kock (Multiply Titans, capt), Rassie van der Dussen (Imperial Lions, vice-capt), Temba Bavuma (Imperial Lions), Junior Dala (Multiply Titans), Bjorn Fortuin (Imperial Lions), Beuran Hendricks (Imperial Lions), Reeza Hendricks (Imperial Lions), George Linde (World Sports Betting Cape Cobras), David Miller (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Anrich Nortje (Warriors), Andile Phehlukwayo (Hollywoodbets Dolphins), Dwaine Pretorius (Imperial Lions), Kagiso Rabada (Imperial Lions), Tabraiz Shamsi (Multiply Titans).
